When thinking about renovating parts of your home or the entire thing, there are some areas that often get left out and overlooked. Yes, a brand new, sparkly kitchen is glorious and drool worthy, but that is not an update that is always in every person's budget. Here is a very simple and equally drool worthy home front transformation for less than $60.
Did you know you could style your home front like this? Yes, we've all seen the amazing wrap around porches - or even just a porch big enough for a piece of furniture. Well, that's not my situation. I have enough room for my pizza delivery man to stand there and knock on my door and that is about it. I knew I wanted something more than what the house came with when we bought it. That light is hideous and I can barely read the house number from the road. How am I supposed to receive all of my shameless amazon prime orders if no one can see my address!?
It all started when I was looking for wall hanging planters during our entry way renovation. I found this planter and fell in love. It wasn't right for the entry, but I kept it floating in the back of my mind for about 6 weeks dreaming of how I could figure out how to use it somewhere in the house.
Then I had a church women's activity and we went to a local nursery to get our hands dirty and plant some pretty things for summer. I ended up falling in love with this plant. They literally have 1 plant that has grown so amazingly that there is a display in their show garden and it looks like a BLANKET. Amazing! It all clicked! This plant would look amazing cascading out of that galvanized bucket I fell in love with 6 weeks ago. Isn't it amazing when ideas come together? So I asked the nursery owner about the plant and confessed my black thumb-ness to her. It is called a mezoo trailing red and she basically told me I can't kill this beauty. SOLD. I grabbed it and hugged it and loved all over it and whispered sweet nothings into its ears and we rode off into the sunset together. We finished our activity and I also grabbed an aloe vera plant and I was set!
The next day, I got up early and packed the girls in the car and drove the 1 hour to our nearest Hobby Lobby to snag me my galvanized bucket! I had a slight panic attack about 40 minutes in realizing I should have called to see if they had one in stock, but luckily (because this project was my destiny) they did have one.
But wait...what is this adorable "hi" sign right here? OOOKKKK this is looking cute! See? I told you it was destiny! I am obsessed with the smoothness of the plant paired with the hardness and slits in the galvanized bucket. And then you add on this farmhouse light from Design House and the unfinished wood from the sign. I mean - does it get any better than this? Or cuter? Or cheaper!!!
And look at that transformation! All for less than $60? I think YES! It completely changed the feel of the front of our home and brings a smile to your face when you walk up to our door. You're welcome delivery man! So I challenge you! What can you transform in your home for less that $60? I would love to see your inspiration and creativity!
